Last night when my host family asked me not to tutor students at the house anymore, I think they were expecting a battle from me due to when they told me, "no" when I first got here I wasn't so happy about it. My host mom even said that if I wasn't ok with that I could find another host family... which I'm not wanting to do, at least not yet, and especially because they don't want me to tutor at the house. No worries there.
But she made me herbal tea tonight to help with my yucky cold (of which I think I want to take congestant instead of decongestant right now....lol). It was quite delicious!!
Maybe I'm growing on NMG....
Hi Cate,
ReplyDeleteI'm Bette's friend who served in Albania '03-05. Oh boy can I relate to some of your recent posts. I had some very interesting "homewear" and sleeping get ups. SO bad that I surely frightened my hosts but I was desperate to get warm... And yes, host families are worthy of many LONG conversations. I hope to meet you one of these days. Hang in there and thanks for sharing your journey.
